Hi there, and welcome to my world of photography! I’m a photographer based in Singapore, a little red dot on the world map.
My introduction into photography first started with film. But back then I had no prior training in the technical aspects of photography. In 2006, I was introduced to Nikon D70 – the official camera during my military service. And that’s when I began to nurture the passion burning inside me. What started out as just a hobby, became my passion, and later my journey into professional photography.
OneHappyClick is focused on Wedding and Portrait photography, and as the name implies, it is a (happy) moment to remember, forever.
Happiness comes in many forms. For us, photography is our happy pill. And through photography, we hope to spread that happiness around. Thus the name “OneHappyClick” was born. It essentially means “happiness in a click of the shutter”.
I usually take a more journalistic approach to my shots so as to create a “story telling” feel to the photograph, suitable for events such as weddings.
On locations, I usually look for opportunities to strobe to make my images stand out. Strobing is the use of small high powered flash to light up the subject. While I am called a “strobist” by many friends, I am mainly utilizing it’s capabilities to make the image, better than anyone else. With creative lighting, you can be sure that no one would have the similar image, given the same equipment and location.
I mainly shoot with Canon DSLR, although some of my assistants may use Nikon bodies. I prefer the use of fast aperture prime lenses to give a unique shallow depth of field to my images.
Most of the time, I utilise an ultra wide angle lens for those creative angles, and a fast prime for subject isolation.
My colour tones are hybrids of vintage and modern, usually can be very punchy to very subtle. Tones used usually depends on the theme and mood of the image.
Like they always say, picture speaks a thousand words. So hop into my gallery for some of my works. You may check more ongoing projects at http://www.facebook.com/onehappyclick
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did creating it!
